Expired race seats for PCA DE?

Interesting, there was a CHP booth at the Rennsport Reunion, and I talked to the CHP about the legality of harnesses. They said that they would not issue a ticket if you were restrained with harnesses. Of course my airbags are 25 years old, so I'm not sure they would do anything but go Pffffttt anyways.
If they are not DOT certified , they are technically illegal.
as was mentioned the entire equipment thing is so far blown out of proportion.
on the street, on the track. a little common sense here can go a long way.
I think we all agree that expired belts and harnesses should be allowed on the DE track days. unfortunately, PCA and others dont see it that way.

thats a judgment call on their side. take that to an LA cop and all bets are off.

I just replaced my out of date harnesses for the DE at Thunderhill this weekend. Both sides, even though I haven't had an instructor in the car for a couple of years. Easier to avoid the hassle.

I asked them jokingly, but they were very serious. That is the last thing I worry about when driving my car on the street. So many other potential issues to be ticketed about.

"well" he said, " your tires are bald and you have no front license plate". i felt like saying, " is that it? im sure there are 40 other things you can write me up for" (fortunately my tourettes was in check)

I still drive my 928 on the streets.. not so much so as license has lapsed. But, i got pulled over. he looked at the car and said, "what the heck are you doing driving this?". i said, just taking it out for a stroll, its mainly an "event" car.

I get pulled over from time to time but mainly they just want to make sure I am registered.
