No offense but 80 years old and showing of a 2,500 hp car is a recipe for disaster. Jay is so lucky that somehow he kept his arms in the car

That's the "before" pic... I shudder to see the "after" if that had happened at that moment.

I never heard this before but it sounds like good advice that I will try to remember. Many years ago I was riding shotgun in a friend's brand new 3-series BMW that rolled 3-1/2 times and landed on its roof at Lime Rock. We were using the basic 3-point belts. The car was totaled. No injuries, thankfully. But I remember it being a very violent event. Nothing fun at all about being in a car that is rolling.

That could have been really ugly. Im surprised he didnt have bruises all over his arms. Could have been a lot worse. Sure he is 80, but that was a pretty obvious mistake. Dag racer vs road racer skill set.
Jay had a lot of class when he got out of the car. Down to earth and not a whiner!

as a note, i think all passengers should be required to wear arm restraints. i still have my set from TCCRA, when you needed to wear them if you didnt have window nets for their racing groups. That wouldnt have been pretty if his arm got out the window and was removed or crushed.

There was so much wrong going on:

1. Belts were way too loose.
2. Not in fire suits.
3. No halo sets, hans devices, or arm restraints.
4. Driver didn't have a plan for his actions.
5. Jay failed to control his student.

it's funny now, but that could have been a real disaster! Jay did luck out. ever see what they do for stunt drivers that need to be in a multiple rollover stunt?

Luigi said "5 - jay failed to control his student"....priceless.

I saw that on the news this morning and was cringing in fear, praying Jay's arm did not go out the window. Damn lucky.
