Yes I've used mostly the 1 piece. I have also had the 3 piece GA3R and didn't like them as much. They also leaked air slowly.

These wheels did probably 50-60 track days under my ownership. Not a huge surprise that, given their age, the track duty took it's toll, but I will be more diligent in the future with regular inspections.
I've run an equal if not greater number of days on a set of ForgeLine wheels without issue. I had one of the first twin turbo RX-7s in my area. After the third wheel cracked the dealer agreed to just give me the forth without waiting. It was a design flaw on Mazda's part.

Yep.. thats why the kenisis.... ive had someone hit my rear corner and bend the outers, but after replacing it, the wheel has been perfect for many many years.
you get what you pay for .. and sometimes less.. but i can say, with some designs, the wheels will outlast the car.
Im very hard on wheels too... but not carelessly. (you dont see me catching air banging off birms) BUT, i did crack all the forgline one piece rims back in the day. (same wheels sofonas used to use on his BMW race cars) they were not tough enough (center to outer crack issues). However, their 3 piece wheels are as tough as kinesis, and there are others.

I hear and see this all the tiime. lesser wheels will crack and break and that is just plane scary! why even take a chance when there are such strong proven wheels out there. Remember the tire discussion.. ill take a cracked sidewall any race of the week vs using one of those suspect wheels! get a flat.. no big deal normally... lose a wheels center.... and bad things happen .. usually!

i have been running my kinesis for over 18 years now, and i probably have as much or more track /race days on them than anyone here on the list. documented over 200 race days. Ive replaced the outers and rebolt'ed the 3 piece wheels once back in 2008, but the centers are original.
the centers on these wheels are Tanks! i would suggest to anyone racing , to always use a wheel with a near bullet proof center!

Add me to the list, cracked spoke on CCW C10. Called CCW now owned by WELD wheels they said too bad so sad, that'll be $795 for a new one in 10-12 weeks.

I had a barrel split in the middle of a fairly new 15inch wheel, was talking with John as the company was transitioning......Johns said he was gonna warranty, bit never happened, talked to weld, yeh our two piece wheel can't reuse the center (so really a 1 pieece)

Was also told 10 weeks for a new wheel..and the price had gone up about 150 bucks a wheel..waaay too long

Been running Jongbloeds for a while and will be buying another set as the funds appear.....true 2 piece, quick turn around, and I feel have better cooling

Good luck getting them in 10-12 weeks. I know of two people who have been waiting over a year for CCW's.

I went the Jongbloed route. Fast service and wheels that suck the heat out. How can you beat that!

Not sure you can beat it, but BBS Motorsports remains a quality offering. I had a cracked (defect) E88 center that was replaced no questions asked even after 2 years use. BBS really do seem well made, if for a price.

Cheers

Matt

Jongbloed here too.

No good wheel is cheap. But great service makes the difference.

Shoot Ryan Dettling an email at ryan -at- jongbloedracing -dot- com

And remember... wheels are a wear item like almost everything else on a race car

I do same. Wash them good and inspect. Rim and spokes. Easy to do.
My shop inspects during tire swaps too.

Yet to have any of my 3 sets of E88 develop an issue.

I dunno, this is why I run wheels that are light, relatively cheap and easy to get/replace. I have 3 sets of Kosei K1's for my M3. If I need another one they're $175 from Tire Rack and I can have them inside of 2 days.

I agree with Mark, seems most of these wheel failure's are related to the one piece monoblock style wheels used on the late model cars. all these wheels also place the wheel center hub on the outside edge of the rim. I've run CCW's 3 pc. 9" 10" 11" 12" for years without cracks, that been said the tracks in S. Cal. are pretty smooth
