If I post something benign and irrelevant, will Otto Mechanic respond to it?

Sure. You have a wife and own a Porsche. What's not to like? I go by "Scott" BTW. Your name is Berringer? There's a vineyard with that name near me, any relation? I trust you understand further drive by fruitings, otherwise know as content free posts, will be ignored?

So if you have something to say on the subject of safety and fire suits, don't hold back.

Do you have any interest in a lively HP v. torque debate? Because boy do I have a guy for you.

"boy do I have a guy for you"? DT, no amount of WD-40 will work for me in that situation. It's just a personal preference if you know what I mean?

And, we are now so far off topic it's unlikely we'll ever get back.

OK Scott.

The way this works is you put me on your ignore list. Do you already know how to do that all by yourself, or would you need instructions?

Scott, can I drove your car? LOL, chill, man!

The point is you can buy USED SFI fire suits off ebay, (50-$100 that would be much better than a flight suit. that's it! horses for courses... if you have to actually buy it get the right thing.

a while back, I had a ex fighter pilot, (who was an amazing natural talent), and he did bring his flight suit. its better than jeans, and he already owned it, and it still fit, so fine use it. But don't go out and buy a flight suit when a used track suit for the same money will work better.

Fuel fires are very very scary. oil or brake fires.... not so much, unless it gets to the fuel...

heck, new ones are cheap..

note: 2 piece suits aren't legal for road racing...

Well, so far I haven't heard "much better" yet?

I don't know about "much better". That was the original question? Come on? Why is a Nomex flight suit worse than a Nomex track suit? That's the question?

Some people believe a three layer Nomex track suit is better than a single layer Nomex flight suit. It certainly is. But a three layer Nomex suit is always better than a one layer suit. So what's the point?

We were originally discussing a pair of levis soaked in borax vs. a Nomex suit. Let's stay on the same page? A Nomex suit is better than jeans soaked in borax. That was my point. Two layers of Nomex are better than one layer of Nomex.

DE drivers, not fully committed to a $2000 driving suit, will be better off with a $28 Nomex flight suit than jeans soaked in borax. That would be my point. Anyone want to argue against it?
