Spa 6Hour WEC Tandy Crash

I think he just didn't see the 911 approaching, which I admit is unusual for a pro. That being said the speed differential approaching the corners with those LMP1 cars is insane.
On a side note I was glad to see the Porsche prototypes giving the Audis a run for their money. And I can't believe that FS1 had the race on (or at least part of it live).

I think the prototype expected the 911 to yield the apex rather than drive to it. Seems a silly assumption?

I would bet he anticipated/thought there would be radio instructions from a spotter telling the 911 to yield the apex, Porches coming thru..
Apparently that did not happen

the 911 has no obligation to give up the corner that late, the prototype should have just breathed off the throttle and instead tandy wrecked two porsches. just as bad as the guy at the rolex 24 taking out the other 911.
I think it was Bill Auberlin in tudor who went OFF on tandy and that he's a hack. used to be a smooth safe winning driver and has quickly become a wrecker.
i think he wrecked the Effort 911 in world challenge last year.
fast but wreckless doesnt last.

Seems like every LMP1 / GT crash has a LMP1 car dive bombing the apex. Just looking at Le Mans, you have McNish, Mike Rockenfeller, and Anthony Davidson having very similar collisions with GT cars. With the speed differential - there is no need for that type of risk,
That's why GT driving in multi-class racing is very challenging!!

Poor decision making seems to happen even at the alleged pinnacle of motorsports...
