It was a freak accident. What are the chances of it happening to be there at the right time and place to go underneath a rescue vehicle. What about simonsen in Lemans who happened to nail a tree behind an Armco. The stars aligned but in a bad way. I see rescue vehicle on track all the time- doesn't bother me. I worry more about the other drivers who are in the race I do not know. For sure safety will evolve but know the fact nothing is perfect. Mike

Isn't a formula 1 race already a sprint anyways. Full course caution to remove a car seems reasonable to me.

It is a tragedy, but it would have been even worse if he just lingered in a coma for years. I'm glad his family has some closure.

I hope he is up in heaven surrounded by hot umbrella girls racing whatever cars they have.
