Did the same thing at Sears first time out in my 6-cup some 8 years ago in slightly damp conditions. Spun into the mud at T3 on the outlap (ahh that would be my 3rd turn in the car)....
Welcome to cup racing....

Well the thing is:
it wasn't my first time on slicks
it wasn't my first time on used slicks
it wasn't my first time in cold weather conditions
it wasn't my first time with that car
it wasn't my first time with that car on used slicks on that track
I knew I had to be careful, and I was (I could post the first part of the lap too, but you would all fall asleep waiting until I get to the point where it happened
) yet I still got caught out. ![surrender](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/surrender.gif)

Three Wheelin'

some nice driving there dude. dont take it personally, you posted osmething and guys are dissecting what they see. i fricking love hearing people critique my driving as if i pick up one simple thing out of 20 comments, its worth it, else im learnging in a bubble.
no cup car driver hasnt done that, hasnt spun a car. its part of the education we get. thankfully you got it in a relatively painless way.
my world challenge camaro is diabolical on the pirelli wc slicks. those frickin slicks are like iice skates, soemthing about the oils and it takes a smidge of heat to get the oils out, and that car is a monster motor with crazy torque, without an engine over the rear wheels, and if you even think about touching the throttle through the first 2,3 turns, you're spinning. ive done it, swore id never do it again, did it tagain. after 3,4 turns, youcan start warming them up. but crazy diabolical.
returning to your video...if i could offer anything, i think in a lot of the turns, you hold the wheel into the turn too much, too long and could and should start to unwind earlier. without breaking down too much, look at the SECOND LONGER NON_SPINNING video in the 5 to 10 second range. you enter the turn, nice line, hit the apex, you're back to full power and right about at 8seconds stop the video. literally stop the video. look at the angle of your car, its like perfect coming out of the turn. you're already out of the turn and your car is headed straight out towards the exit curb on the left. you get to that cone on the right and you've got good throttle. but pause it at 8, 8.5 second. look t the car, and look at the road and NOW looka t the wheel. you've got the wheels bound up. with great tires, properly heated, good meat, you can get away with that.
but its costing you time, and on cold slicks or burned up tires, when you start to lose the rear end, its going to come around and you're going to have hard pace and maybe hit something.
if i were in the car as a passenger or coach, i would be suggesting to unwind the wheel since you a) can , b) doing so will increase speed since you're not sliding the tires through the turn against the way they want to roll and b) you can get to power more as you'll have better grip.
as far as safety is concerned, everyone makes up their own mind. with the rash of deaths and injuries that we've suffered in the motorsports community, i would wear the max. anyone who scoffs at you for wearing a suit and gloves in a GT3 street car is a total frickin tool who has no clue the dangers of this sport. because you can as much if not way more damanage in a street car than a cup car. atleast the cup car is full safe, caged, FE, electrical cut off. you never impact most things at full throttle, its always at like 75 mph after you've trimmed off speed. when they barrel roll, they all look the same...ugly and nasty.
be safe, live to go another day.
my worst crashes have been at moderate speeds where the punishment for sure did not even close to fitting the crime. its an unjust sport in that regard.
anyway, there you go. great driving, but those are my couple of thoughts.

Here we go, the section you mentioned:

Here are the screencaps at those timings. As you can see at the apex, if I were to open the wheel more I would just end up in the grass on the left. What is a possibility is that I need to start turning into the corner later as to straighten the line along the apex. It is quite a hard corner to get right and I find myself regularly either turning in to early or missing the apex by a meter.
