Default Looking to buy a new Recaro seat......

Halo or no Halo?

I know there have been multiple threads on safety equipment, but if someone has the cliff notes or distilled version on the subject of "the safest driver's seat", I would really appreciate it.

Recaro Pro Hans here. Im surprised anyone would be buying a non-halo seat at this point.

After this (go kart accident) I wouldnt get in a car without one.

Halo makes more sense to me, but I read on another thread that someone was talked out of buying a halo seat for reasons which I don't know

I read one poster thought the halo seat made it difficult to get out of the car in a hurry. I guess if your neck is broke, probably doesn't matter how fast you can get out. Halo for me.

Non Recaro option, if sizing is an issue.

Overall, HALO because a HANS alone won't do anything for you in a hard side impact. HOWEVER: you will really need to practice getting out in a hurry, especially from your tiny car with its tiny door & tinier window, and especially if you also use a cool shirt.

Hi Doc
That was probably me, but the reasoning (as I heard it) was not convincing.
Halo makes sense and I will be adding one.

Paolo,

If you are at the NJMP Race in August, you are welcomed to come by and try my Recaro Hans (larger one) on slider. Other than not being able to egress when the seat is in driving position, it feels fine.
