PCA GTB class with other clubs

Crossing over with a stock PCA car to run NASA GTS while fun it is just not competitive. I believe the big issue is the lack of gearing, if I am not mistaken GTB also can't run gears.
I think the only competitive crossovers are Gts or 944 spec

I think a lot of the additional costs associated with the GT classes is in the engine. Adding HP is very expensive and requires the components to run at the zenith of their engineered capability. This means frequent tear downs. Smart bomb money.
You may spend big bucks building a Stock Class car to the maximum limit of the rules, but you are not changing the engine. A stock engine should, theoretically, outlast the hybrids by a significant factor.

NASA,s dyno hp to weight formula is pretty good it really leaves a level playing field and does limit the arms race at least when it comes to motors

Another factor to look at is how fragile the car is off track...when its bumped. It happens and modern cars don't like to be bumped....not saying rubbing is racing.....but ask any cup car crash up derby driver what a pca event cost them

Well if I could fit in a cayman without bolting the seat to the floor I probably would've had one by now but wasn't trying to spend cayman race car money

I think the future is with PDK cars, whether Caymans or 997s.
VR - Ryan is an excellent driver with a very competitive car (in that order) and I think there is nothing wrong with pushing the envelope within a class to stay competitive, provided he does not put that Cup wing on and moves into "I"

Just because there is a hp/wt ratio doesn't mean folks don't spend big money on engines. Lots of creative (and legal) engine stuff goes on in GTS. It's a great class, just not cheap if you want to be at the front. That's true of any racing class to some extent, but the definition of expensive changes with the different classes.

One other point I'd like to make is that you can run slicks in GTB. If you run them in GTS3 the HP/weight becomes ridiculous and a GTB car gets bumped to GTS4. So if you are trying to stretch your tire budget over a couple of weekends add the $$$ for buying R comps with NASA and slicks with PCA or be ready to add sh*t loads of ballast .
