Default In search of window mount for Lap timer

Not making calls while on the track so I'm calling the 4s a lap timer.

I saw more than a handful of guys using suction mounts with short arms. What are you using, what do you recommend? I see a lot listed on Amazon but it's hard to tell if some of the flexible arms are too long or won't hold position, etc.

I've also only come across the Emprum Ultimate GPS enhancement, what else are you using ?

Thanks,
Brain

I use a RAM suction cup windshield mount for my iPhone 4 which I configured and purchased directly from their web site. Mine works great and i would recommend it:

OK, build your own. What length arm worked for you?
Are you using a 5 Hz bluetooth GPS device with it ?

Another recommendation for RAM mount. Video taken with Harry's Laptimer on my iPhone is virtually shake-free.

I have the medium arm length and the universal x-grip clamping cradle. I've only ever used it with my iPhone 4. It works perfectly in every vehicle I've tried it in including my race car. In the race car I use it to run Harry's Lap Timer and Race Monitor. Here's a picture of it in my daily driver:

I use a ram mount connected to my rear view mirror for my iPhone.

Here's some video, set it to HD in youtube to get a good sense of how stable the mount is:

Appreciate all the comments, RAM looks to be an excellent product.

Next step, what are you using to improve the GPS in your Iphone ?
