That must have a been a fun first lap!
I should not have let you go. You brought Bela with you. Lesson learned. Or I should have let you go anywhere else other than T11. Stupid stupid stupid. I just couldn't take 11 as fast. Didn't want to mess up your D race though.

My only chance in D was if Kris got really messed up in the backmarkers of the SP group or made a big mistake, neither of which worked out. The double yellow could have been perfect for me but I was jammed up behind 3 SP cars that didn't feel it was important to stay with the leaders on the restart.....

I know Dave too. He's a very good driver and a really nice guy. I've had many fun battles with him over the years. He makes you work to get past. But when you get him, he knows it. Getting chased makes him faster - thats for sure. But this was just a weird session. Mixing Practice and qualifying was forced by schedule, but didn't work well for a lot of people. Myself included.
I was barely a 1/2 turn behind dealing with my own nemesis holding up a red supercup and me . So I had a bird eye view of your struggle..
You finally blew by Dave before the bus stop. Shame you got held up by the black car in the outer loop. He was slow and dave got you back going into T6. The black car usually gave room for faster traffic.
And right behind about 6 cars swarmed the black car. We were coming into T6 3 or more across and as I passed the black car on the inside I saw the white Cayman in T7 pointing the wrong way.
Look at 4:27 in your video. That must have given you pause

Astroman: Agreed. Better to just call this last session qualifying than Practice. It either is or it isn't.. My data shows that the struggle that the Red 505 Supercup and I had getting past a Cayman cost us 1-2 seconds in qualifying. Had to cost the guy in front of us as well. Jeez.
Course - none of this effected my sprints the next day
