Motons questions??
Are there many / any guys out there running Motons '2-way Clubsports' on 944 turbos that I can ask a few questions? I suppose that n/a, S2 and 968s will have relevant info as well. We're not far off running the car again and I haven't used these Motons yet. Not super sure what starting point I will opt for nor if there are any short cuts I could use. The car will be in the 2600lb range with a fair bit of rear downforce which we will try to match the front with. The car is also equipped with suspension pots which will give plenty of data from changes made. Spring rates are 900f 1100r. I've been getting some advice that we might need to increase the rears by a few hundred lbs.
When I was talking to one of the guys that did all the wiring and electrical engineering side of things he mentioned in passing that Motons were favoured in the U.S. but will take a little longer to sort out. I haven't pressed him on this yet as this was some months ago when the car was still a ways off finishing. I wonder what he was suggesting. I will review this subject with him again.
A few pics.

There are a lot of 944 turbos running Motons (2 & 3 way) here in the US. I just put them on my car, but have only had one brief shakedown on them. So sorry I don't have enough experience to answer your question.
For initial setup, we went with the recommended settings from AST (the Moton dealer for the US). You can call them at 972.424.3700. They are located in Plano, TX (Central time in the USA). They were very helpful and easy to deal with.
Great looking car, by the way.

Your 944 looks real nice and well prepared. I run Moton CS's and rarely play with the settings to any great degree. You're certainly running spring rates that are way heavier than mine. The guys at the U.S. Moton office are very helpful with setup and maintenance. After 4 seasons I've only had 1 issue, a leaky reservoir that was replaced.

testing - settings
I have been running Moton Clubs for a couple years and the settings make a difference, especially if you are running downforce. Data, whether by electronic means, lap times or your rear end is key. Testing is the only way to find out the affects of changes. They didn't put those little ***** on there for looks.
Record your settings every time you get on the track. Always note the conditions, track temp, humidity, etc - everything, every time.

Three Wheelin'
My car weighs in at 2750 with driver, dry. I have two sets of springs 1000/900 and 800/900. Make sure you pad the mount points. Those canisters will vibrate, wear and potentially fail. You can find some inexpensive mounts made by "joes".

"Joes?" As in generic Joe Schmoe or this is an actual brand?

The Moton documentation I have says this for beginning settings:
When installing the shock or strut on the car for the first time, the compression adjuster should be set at 2 clicks from "0".
Turn the adjuster **** clockwise until it stops. This is the "0" position. From this position turn the **** counterclockwise 2 clicks.
FRONT:
COMPRESSION = 2
REBOUND = 3
REAR:
COMPRESSION = 2
REBOUND = 3
GAS PRESSURE:
Dampers with 22mm outside diameter piston rod = 12 bar or 185 psi
Basically pick a middle setting and start driving, adjust from there. You'll probably find a lot of good settings. Finding which is "more" good is the harder part.
BTW, I'm running 700f/900r.

Forgive my ignorance but which part of the mount holds the cage and which part the canister?

Yes, of course. I misread where they refer to the size of the canister diameter when they mean the cage diameter.
