Default F1 on BBC?

As the F1 season approaches, I am starting to think again how much I hate watching F1 on speed. Does anyone have a way to stream the BBC feed of F1 to your tv that is good quality?

Update: After some more reading it appears I can get a UK VPN and stream the race from BBC then connect my computer to my TV. Is anyone on here doing this who can comment on it's reliability and quality?

I thought SkySports took over the coverage from the Beeb this year.....

They did. No more BBC coverage. A UK proxy works fine.

Sky has all the races (and Martin Brundle as commentator) and the Beeb has half the races. It's a terrible change. I use a commercial VPN to connect live and use iPlayer. Works great.

My mistake. I use the same solution as Chris and it worked great.

Fun watching EJ and DC go at it!

How will we access Sky? Do they have an iplayer as BBC does?

Or will we need to (cough) torrent?

Sky has a player, but it's a subscription service. They plan to offer an Internet-only subscription at some point, but I'm not sure when. I'm looking for one of my friends in London to give me access to his account! Might be torrents, though.

Any advice on what software to use for the VPN and how to set it up? I have a VPN for my work network but have no idea how to VPN to the UK. Would love to get live F1 broadcasts on my computer though!

With a VPN hosted in the UK you can watch live or download with the BBC iPlayer on your PC. Live is lower quality than downloaded, but one cannot download until the program is posted to iPlayer, and that can take anywhere from a few hours to a day. I usually watch downloaded and avoid spoilers. Last hear the BBC had full coverage (an hour show pre-race, race and an hour show after the race for race day and full coverage of pratice sessions and quali). Not sure what they will do this year--probably less.

Sounds like Sky is going to have pretty good coverage. I wish I could just get the channel. I can't find anywhere if the races will be available through DL or streaming only.

What's wrong with the Speed coverage? Two Brits and one American and you want BBC coverage?

So, looking into this VPN thing...

What service do you all recommend?

SPEED F1 is blacked out in many countries outside the USA.

In Canada we did get the BBC feed on TSN but with no pre-race and little after race coverage.

No idea how Sky is going to work for us, anyone on the North side know?
