Maybe at a DE, but racing you throw the anchor and spare change out the window until you realize your slowing yourself down too much and need to giveway.
BTW that was some nice driving. Disposing of RSRs in a Cup was pretty impressive.

OK so I watched it again too and he did block to the right on the straight after Sean moved right first. That consititues a block IMHO. He moved back left almost immediately after the stalled white car on the right came into view over a rise. That's just survival. His initial moves onto the back straight, and his final move left on the front straight are better examples of getting someone out of your draft-especailly that last move....

Wouldn't it be simpler to say a block is moving in front of someone's path and when you move away it's legal?

His (slight) weaving maneuvers were to get Sean out of his draft. Again, completely fine....there is nothing in this video showing anything sketchy by the driver in the black car.

Truly impressive drive. Nothing like what I did in a V4 there last year, although I did get some nice waves from the fast guys when I helped them with a pass that did not slow either of us. A lesson learned in RTR DE, actually.

After watching the 2nd time, the weaving wasn't as blatant as I recalled. Still not cool or as safe as holding your line & being predictable IMO. Plus, it never works! Rule books vary & obviously I don't know what rules applied in this race. This would be frowned upon in the club racing that I do, including the Spec Miata class where drafting is huge.

Fine. But that was a completely legal move and not dangerous in any way. The driver did not weave back and forth trying to block.

So it's settled, apparently: the car's attempt to disrupt Edwards' draft was neither uncool nor unsafe. It was just pointless.
