Not to be a wet blanket here, but your car has some serious horsepower. The black Boxster that you passed for the lead had a better line and pulled you off the corner onto the back straight, and you reeled him back in by the braking area.

haha I will definately agree that the field this particular day was not very strong, which is why I chose to start last.

You're right, serious horsepower always does the trick when reeling people back in in braking areas.

I was thinking the same thing after closely examining that video and looking at exit speeds of the cars that were passed

Certainly some nice driving and braking, but I have to agree with Larry & John. Camera car looks to have 10+ hp on the field.

He said "reeled him back in by the braking area", not in the braking area.. I took it to mean you caught up to him.

The video speaks for itself. And Gary, you're quite the language stickler... If I didn't know you better, I'd say you're one of those **** lawyer types.

The second to last pass, the black and orange car, did he send you a formal invitation to take the Apex or was his decision to leave it open a more casual affair?

The cars have been on the dyno. The pink car in the video makes 10 more hp than my car, 184 to my 174. The black/orange car has put down over 190 on the dyno. Now that doesn't mean they are making it down to the spec weight as well as I am.
I set up the car specifically for this high speed track with zero toe front and rear, smaller brake ducts, lower ride height, and I use the Hoosiers because they are 8-10lbs lighter than the Kumho's which reduces the rotating mass etc... not that it's going to change anyone's opinion I guess.

I still don't see where I pulled him on that straight away. When his brake lights light up right next to the 4 cone braking markers I start to close. Oh well

haha, that's partly due to building a reputation for being aggressive.
