Thanks for the update... this thing is still on my WANT list, but only once the hardwire and remote charger bits are available. I don't have a cigarette lighter in the racer

Don't worry, I'm bugging John about the need to get this piece in stock soonest. Will post here as soon as they are in. OG Racing should have them soon after.

Just ordered mine from OG.

Any ideas for mounting in a car without a roll bar? May want to use it on my street car as well.

Well, good luck getting a answer you can trust. The person I have been working with at Replay since June knows that I want the hardwire kit with remote power on/off and recording start/stop for my race car.

When I ordered the camera, the kit I wanted was supposed to be out in July. Every time frame I have been given since then has been missed.

In late December, I get an excited email telling me I am being sent the first hardwire kit off the production line. What shows up at my door? A hardwire kit with power and remote mic input designed to plug into a cigarette lighter receptacle. That's it. Nothing more. Just about useless to me. I ask when the kit I want will be available and I am told sometime around the middle of January. Sure....I will believe it when I see it.

Am I disappointed? Immensely. I suppose I will be happy once the kit I want is available. But come on, this is ridiculous!!!

If you put a 32 GB card in....I suppose you could keep power to the camera by plugging it into the cigarette lighter, will this work? Without power you only get 70 minutes of recording I read.

Yes, my plan is buy a 32GB card and hard wire the camera to a power switch that will probably be on all the time. I just hate not being able to turn the camera on or start recording unless I do so before I strap into the car. If I forget to do that, I am SOL....

I have my camera now and the USB port on it is not the same size as the aiptek one.

Also, are you removing the card when you want to transfer the video to a computer for editing? The only way I can get the camera to mount as a drive on my computer using the USB cable is with a bizarre sequence of pushing and holding some of those tiny buttons which will be nearly impossible in the mounting location I had planned.

Default Good info

I am going to get a monster card and go all weekend using the cig lighter for power. I have the old unit...which has been great.

My only question, we know it creates AVI files, is how do I convert these to a format compatible with You Tube. I have a Mac, I have attempted to edit...can't seem to get the size down to the point where the AVI can be sent as an attachment...

Supposedly there is a display unit coming up soon, just like the HERO.

Note I once had to call Tech Support. They were great!!!

I always pop the card out. USB is waaay too slow for large files like these.

Thanks

Did you hear anything about the remote start/stop hardwire kit? An email I received today responding to my request for an update says: "No updates as of now."

This is getting old. This was after being told on 12/22 that they said they were hoping for a mid-January release.

Tony? Mark? Have you guys heard anything from Replay (John Spar) recently on the remote start/stop hardwire kit?

My track season is just about to get started and I sure would like a reasonable way to control the ReplayXD 1080 camera...
