Possible that you d-chunked a cylinder wall.

You've done all the right stuff, but I think the only way to further bulletproof these M96 motors is to sleeve the cylinders.

Let us know the autopsy results
Thanks Matt.
Rick called me this morning to let me know the 2.5 is out of the car. The oil was loaded with coolant....and metal. I thought the smoke coming out had a steam component to it and now I know. It did.

Thanks Brian and Jay.
We're experiencing some growing pains but Rick is working on it. The new power is really nice and the higher 7300 rpm redline makes the gears nicely taller.
The car is unfortunately ingesting oil under higher g loads. We tried setting a lower oil level and changing the new AOS to a new one with no luck. Rick has the car in his shop and is looking into a few other things.

Bummer there are some teething problems, but I'm sure Rick will get it worked out. Then it's all fun from there on! Are you coming to NHMS with the Lion?

Irene is a kitty not a lion. Oh, the car.
We won't miss the NCR season finale and the associated pig roast. Mmmmm, pig. If the Pawxster isn't right by that time we'll drive the Mini or the 997. We'll be there!

Cup AOS?? Are you refering to the Porsche Motorsport AOS designed for the Cayman?? If so, thats a second design and does not fit the 99-2001 3.4 motors..
Correct me if you know otherwise...

"redridge" modified the cup AOS to fit into a 3.4L. It can be done but not plug and play.
