Dave,

I think you need to revise your signature. The Spec seems outdated.

Can't wait to try the new lion.

I don't want to jinx anything until it's done!

Dave,
I think I will now take you up on your offer to drive your car at the next DE! You are so kind.

Maybe we should plan a track meet some time.
Glad to hear your 3.4 is working out.
Never been to LRP. It's on my list for next year.

I'm curious to hear the results of the autopsy as well.

If you weren't planning on racing, how come you built the car to the Boxster Spec guidelines?

Hey, Dave, what Rick said. I think you're really going to enjoy the instructor thing. You got the karma.

Sorry about the engine. I'm looking at a transplant, too. Barney is tired.

There was a time when I thought there was a really good chance that I was going to go racing so I wanted to keep the option open. The Spec Box rules are also a nice guideline to follow in building a Boxster.

Jim, I would suggest using the X51 oil pan on that car since it still has the stock pan. Like you said, everything else is good to go. As far as the Accusump, I don't think it's a bad idea considering the cost of an M96 replacement/rebuild. Looking foward to doing the cage (sorry for the slight thread-jack)

Kent, yea thats the conclusion I've come to as well. Also I've come to like the airjacks on the cup, and dig what you did on your "SubiBoxsterstein" I'm thinking thats a must have, and a seat mount for a recaro pro hans sitting next to the car... the list is growing...

...now back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Hey bro. sorry to hear the Flyin' Kitty Cat got hurt! You and I have been on track together up at MMC. i have the silver grand am boxster (had is better word).

Spec boxsters are awsome. i owned one last year and did a race or two. tons of fun, tons of competition, lower HP, lesser drama, lesser anxiety, every time you get out of the car you gotz a big smile on your face! awsome stuff.

anyway, glad you've it sorted, and im sure rick will deliver a boxster masterpiece when he's done upgrading your motor. now you might have ot consider better brakes, as that 3.4 or a 3.6 might be too much motor for those 2.5l stock brakes.

Yes, we have indeed met! I seem to recall someone telling me your Boxster was for sale. Did you have any aero on that car?

Rick already recommended the Box S front calipers which will definitely be added at some point as well as a LSD.

If my car gets finished next week, I'm planning on being at MMC the weekend of Oct 1-2.

Dave, bummer, but sounds like a fun rebound.

Possible that you d-chunked a cylinder wall.

You've done all the right stuff, but I think the only way to further bulletproof these M96 motors is to sleeve the cylinders.

Let us know the autopsy results
