Hmmm i wonder who really got the pole...

Mark Webber says Hungarian GP qualifying deficit to Sebastian Vettel is bizarre

Mark Webber found it "bizarre" that he was unable to qualify higher than sixth for the Hungarian Grand Prix, especially with his Red Bull team-mate Sebastian Vettel on pole position. Webber won last year's Hungaroring race and had been on pole for the previous two grands prix in 2011, but the Australian's best effort in Q3 was a full 0.659 seconds adrift of Vettel's pole time.

How can that possibly be?
Raj has so eloquently stated how Massa doesn't even deserve to be in the same garage as Alonso, based on the massive difference in skill, so there must be another reason.....

Hmmn....

Upon further review, a mechanic was seen adding front downforce to Alinso's wing before the final run in Q3, so that could only be explained by:

A. The mechanic was in fact from Massa's side of the garage and it was sabotage
B. Alonso is assuming it will rain on Sunday and hence asked for more downforce.
C. A brilliant team orders strategy put together by Flavio ... No, wait we've already seen that before.....was Piquet driving with Massa's helmet.
D. Alonso is saving his "special tires fir the race".
E. Alonso just screwed the pooch in the 3rd sector.

But 5th is really really good.

Prior to the start of Q3, I thought Hamilton would take the pole. But he made a slight driving error with a small amount of oversteering coming out of a corner near the end of his 2nd lap that likely cost him the time he lost to Vettel. So Lewis will have to start on the dirty side in tomorrow's race with Vettel and Button starting on the clean side with more grip. But what part of reality are you unable to accept? What part of Vettel logged a faster lap time in Q3 than both McLaren and both Ferrari drivers can you not accept? Dude you are a complete joke. You were passing judgment before qualifying even began.

I will say nothing more until after tomorrow's race because unlike a certain opinionated dork, I know they don't hand out starting grid positions based on hot laps logged during the three practice sessions, just as they don't hand out points based on qualifying.

The qualifying was unusual, since I also thought that Hammy would be on pole. Webber finishing 6th is also odd, and Massa qualifying ahead of Fernando brings out the conspiracy theorists. Probably, the most bizarre is that I did not see Perez attempt in Q3 at all (any explanation for Perez)

Perez was unlikely to improve from 10th so he saved a set of soft tires
