I think Astroman is pretty much on target. Personally, I get more track time with PCA and tend to choose races for the track, my personal schedule, and my pocketbook. Quit trying to predict the weather long ago... trends are June/July/August hot; Janurary, February, March, not so much, but wetter and possibly ice. I just insure I have rain tires and a helmet cool air system, then go with the flow.

Fantastic racing. great weather. My only complaint would be that half the enduro group retired early. Maybe an hour and a half in 85 degree weather is still too much ? Up for debate for sure.

I had a great time at the event. The track is amazing. The weather was nearly perfect, everything was well organized, and the races seemed to run pretty smooth. The Saturday dinner was better than any other race I've ever been to. I don't know why more people didn't come. Both years I've raced Atlanta it was miserably wet, and still there was good turnout.

Long haul for Buckley. Looks like he fared well for E class...as usual.

Great weather, well run event, and a good time was had by all.

Unfortunately, after 20 races, Precious had her first DNF. Broke a half shaft entering the esses on the 3rd lap of sprint 1... parked it on the access road to be courteous to my fellow racers (unfortunately, that also meant sitting in the microwave for 30 minutes before VIR sent the truck to tow me out).

Special thanks to Kevin Healy (U4EEAH) for being a gentleman competitor and classy guy. He lent me his spare half-shaft without blinking to save my weekend. Also big thanks to Trevor Dawe and Doug for helping me. It took them exactly 22 minutes to swap it out (probably takes me 1 1/2 hours), which gave me just enough time to take wee and get to grid for race 2.

Didn't have enough game to hang with Kevin (who was turning blistering 2:05s), but managed to pull off my first podium (2nd place) since moving to GT4S this season, and turned a personal best (2:07.9 in qual). VIR made it painfully clear that precious is a bit outgunned with her stock 270 rwhp engine (anyone have a low-hour 3.6 race engine for sale on the cheap?).

Sorry for the DNF, Glen. It's nice that you put the RWHP number on your hood in blue tape, however!

I'm hoping to change my car number to 350 next season (but that will be awfully expensive vinyl)

It's hot outside and Peter Dawe needs a swimming pool.

Outrageous lap times that motor Glen. Good job. If you had 350 you would have needed your own damn spare axle!!!!!!

I had alot of fun as well, ran my personal best 2:15.2 and also had my best finishes.
3rd first sprint, 2nd second sprint, 1st in the enduro.....my first in class win so i couldnt be happier (just wish they had trophies but i would consider a cash prize instead if only)

Also got workers choice award, ill post the video in a little while of what probably got that for me.
Was a good event, weather was great, track was really good after the first few practice sessions. My coolsuit died in the endure (cut the wire about 15-20 min in) with my shifter...made for a hot race.

However...Road America, Summit Point, Daytona and CMP are already in Sept and October. We can't have every race in the fall, we would end up having what happend to Barber (cancelled because of VIR's date move) or Mid Ohio - getting canibalized by Limerock and WG.

So, assuming a different date could be arranged, which of the other tracks would you sacrifice for VIR? If VIR is not sustainable in late June then it will disappear from the calendar.

It's amazing to me to look at the T&S sheets posted above, from just one run group, and see so many of my friends from Texas.

THEY towed to VIR, which is a major league tow...yet folks closer by don't even show up?

Wow.

How many PCA races have you signed up for this year?
