Question for IQ3 users - sensor setup
Curious to hear what you guys who are using the IQ3 did for a throttle and brake sensor. Would also be interested in where you sourced the sensors. TIA

Sean we have the Racepak sensors. The kit for throttle, brake and steering is expensive but as you know it is pretty well plug and play. If you are coming to the Mosport race you would be welcome to look at the sensors and data.

Plug 'n play. Don't reinvent the wheel. Use the RacePak sensors.

Racepak sensors are the way to go. The throttle, brake and steering package are all VNet sensors. Using the Universal Sensor Module [USM] for under $200 you can use Racepaks non-VNet sensors and save quite a bit. Use their 0-1500psi pressure sensor for brake. The best TPS solution depends on your engine. 993 or later, or 944Turbo have a true tps sensor that you can tap directly. Earlier engines need a potentiometer on the throttle body shaft or similar setup.

Here is a pic of our throttle sensor mounting on our 944 n/a.

TPS and brake pressure setup only requires two sensors and the USM - 0-1500# $179, 0-3" linear $265, USM $199.
Once wired up [sensors to USM, USM via VNet cable to logger] its simple to select the appropriate sensors in DatalinkII and if you have an IQ3 to display the values on a second screen page. This is in the $500 range, and you have two spare channels in the USM for things like oil temp and pressure. Setting up warnings for low temp and high pressure is easy to do as well.
