USM plugs into the V net via a standard V net cable and gives 4 analog inputs. It has 2 voltages available for each of the 4 inputs and you can run both 5 V and 12 V devices. I have one Vnet cable that runs from the IQ3 to a USM and then daisy chained a second USM right after. 8 input ports. I have brake pressure, oil pressure, oil temp, and TP that is taken from the stock 993 TPS. The second USM is used to monitor the espresso maker.

 

Hey Sean. No, Racepak's sensors come in two flavors:
- the VNet module, which attaches the sensor to the VNet can bus
- the sensor only, which wires up to the USM. Its the USM that connects all four of the sensors it takes with the VNet can bus.
Its a lower cost solution because the USM provides a single VNEt connection rather than each sensor having its own.

It would appear that DatalinkII will import the video file so you can see the data and the video together. Though you need to manually sync the video with the data. DatalinkII is integrated with TrackVision so creating a video with data is simple. It appears to be quite a nice setup.

There are non race pack sensors that work well with the USM if you want to save a $ or two. The savings is offset by time spent programing the IQ3 to see and accept the values from the sensor. The USM has 0 to 5V and 0 to 12V that can be used on / off or 0 to full value. The software lets you set what each end of full swing is and has pull down menues with many sensors and trimming resistors already programed in. Tony K made it look easy when he dialed in my setup.
