The Glen vs. VIR
I’m trying to decided which venue I’d like to make a trip east for, Watkins Glen or VIR Club Races?
Please consider the following: track - fun, track – safety, event layout, WEATHER, accessibility to airport (I have car transportation and track support), accommodations, and anything else that should weigh in.
Thanks!

Both are great tracks. Both are great tracks for your 6 Cup to stretch it's legs. The run from turn 1 to the Bus Stop at the Glen is one of the best sections of track on the east coast. Ditto for the climbing esses at VIR. WG has armco everywhere, but you will be so focused you won't notice it unless you get into trouble. It won't be as hot at WG Memorial Day weekend, as it could be at VIR in June. You can get near both via air, but will have to drive a ways. I think the closest airport to WG is Elmira or Corning which serve smaller aircraft. For VIR it will be Durham or Greensboro.
If you are bringing a significant other and or kids, the town has lots to do if she doesn't like hanging out at the track all day. Vinyards all along Seneca Lake, a great state park in town plus some neat little shops.
You will love them both.

LOL...actually Ithaca is the closest airport to the Glen IIRC. Not the best, but the closest.
