Rick,
I've been reading magazines on Zinio on my Mac for several years. The app for the iPad works very nicely and lets me look at all of my purchases as well simply by logging in to my account. Many of the Zinio mags are about $1 an issue which is great.
Total 911 is unfortunately no longer offered on Zinio although it cost more.
Try looking at www.zinio.com and looking through the car section. Most of the basic mags are there but most of the better ones are not (Total 911, GT Purely Porsche, EVO, Top Gear, Excellence....).

+1 Zinio APP.
The Top Gear subscription fee to the states vs a Zinio digital copy will offset the cost of the iPad in a few years. :-) The AutoWeek APP is a nice idea, but pricing isn't that attractive until existing subscription runs out. Total911 APP I think will give you first month free.
