Coming up on April 20/21 there's a David Murry track Days event at VIR, 2 days of open track for racers/experienced drivers. This will really be a great event at a great track.
If you have already been to a G52 event at the Glen then you already know how good these events are.

^What they all said. My fav track. The esses are pure joy in any car. The track does not get dull, it always leaves me feeling that there is more to wring out. (and for me there is)

Don't forget all the other configurations that are also little slices of heaven. On the N course there's the blind left (stevie wonder corner) which is a crazy fun corner if you like to slide the car. How about the short up hill brake zone before the spiral on the S course, the spiral itself, the carousel, fish hook, T1/bitch etc..... the S course doesn't get enough love Every single corner on each configuration is in good shape and fun to mess with slip angles etc..... Like some others have mentioned you always feel you could do just a little better each time around. Similar to a great golf course there's just so much to learn you can never completely figure it out.
The corner workers are the best, the food is good, the bathrooms are clean and the views are spectacular.
PS my one complaint is PAVE THE PADDOCK already, both my cars and I surrender to the gravel/sand and dust

Best track I've been to and my home track as well (only 90 minutes shop to track...)
I probably have close to 40 weekends on it and consider myself to only have about 90% of it down...I know I'm a slow learner.
If you ever have a chance to get a ride with a pro it will change your life. Taking the uphill esses flat out in a higher HP car will make you a believer because God (or maybe it's Satan) lives in turn 10.....
Grand Am will be running there in a couple of months and is a great show to watch if you get the chance.

Not really. Drafting on a road course isn't the same as we see drafting in NASCAR. You want the draft to last the whole lap and not just one straight. Being up close does give you the best draft for the short period. Being as far back as James gives the driver a small draft that gives them about a 1 MPH higher average over the whole lap instead of the 3-4 MPH higher top speed on the straight

James' video was impressive. 130mph up the esses, only 5 mph less than his top speed on the back straight. Lots of speed through 16, then on the brakes and a downshift at 17 before hitting hog pen. Good stuff!
