There is a higher power....he hangs out right around the flag station at T10 at VIR. I have seen him many times with my eyes closed. IMHO VIR is a must do.

Watch this video at the 6:24 mark to see one of the best parts of VIR, The Uphill Esses. Big elevation change very similar to the Esses at Watkins Glen with similar speed but a lot tougher to figure out. All of this followed up by T10 at the top of the hill that is one of the fastest turns at the track.

And some in-car footage from one of the team cars following me around for a draft in qualifying

+1 to all the comments about how great VIR is.
As for the question of getting up to speed: I found it the most challenging track I've driven (RA, BHF, ABCC-N, ABCC-S, Putnam, WGI, Grattan, G-man, etc). It takes a TON of both guts and precision. E.g. you need to go as close as possible to full-throttle thru the uphill esses, but noobs to the track won't be anywhere near that. And Oaktree is a crucial corner, leading to the back straight, but in 3 days I only "nailed" it perhaps twice. I was shocked at the speed I could carry thru Oak Tree, but I couldn't repeat it!!
Some tracks are easy to learn, but VIR is *NOT* one of them.

Coming up on April 20/21 there's a David Murry track Days event at VIR, 2 days of open track for racers/experienced drivers. This will really be a great event at a great track.
If you have already been to a G52 event at the Glen then you already know how good these events are.
