My question is: If you're smart enough to find out a loop hole in the rule, therefore using an advantage of "knowledge" and you take advantage of that loop hole, is it cheating? Should you feel guilty for being smart and stop, or can you use you're skill for finding loop holes as a legitimate competitive edge... Just asking...

I'm just starting to read the thread, but is this indicative of the cheater's mentality? My answer would be: if you find a loop hole publish it so we all "even up". To me racing is about car control NOT car development. One can always make a car with more and more whatever.

The problem is that egos are pathologically oversized in this club.
And so are some checkbooks.

My mother said to wear clean underwear in case I was in an accident. You are taking it in the other direction.

E class had a sudden case of many bent valves at the Glen...when word got out they were checking....
They packed up and left... a few were caught redhanded.

What is the penalty for being caught cheating? Is there anything other than a DQ for that race?

Penalties are up to the Steward for that particular race. The Club Racing Rules state that other than the obvious DQ, a 13/13 can be served. Obviously, having an illegal engine is different than getting DQ'd for being under weight by 5 lbs.

Penalty - loss of respect from your fellow competitors. Club racing is about comradeship, making friends, and having fun.

Unfortunately its been apart of racing since racing started. That's why I always liked a spec series. It helps cut down on the cheaters. No one will ever stop it but if we have better and more scrutes it will help

Or better yet- What is the penalty for being caught cheating over and over again?

The "public shaming" doesn't work in PCA Club Racing because PCA treats the whole DQ punishment process as highly classified information that can only be discussed in closed session with the oversight committee.

Wrong....13 you are now allowed to continue the weekend if you so please.

Dq starts at back but doesn't explain reason, or could have gotten to grid late.....

Luckily my log book states I checked out

If your caught, get it fixed and get back out there.....i want more cars not less.....sometimes you buy a car that's got crap you don't know about, when you find out it sux, own up and get it changed......and get back out there
