It will be fine, government will foreclose/privatize and get all the upgrades for free. You never want to be first in line on any development. 2nd sometimes but usually 3rd in line is magic...

Seems like supporting the current lessors would be foolish, supporting the ring i agree with. I studied the issue and it appears current leadership will be ousted due to many violations of covenants so that has to run its course before new control, likely german/state is reinstated. Any support prior to that change of control will likely find its way to the fools pocketbook.

Does anyone have any details?

Seems like Germany ran it profitably for almost 80 years so they can do it, once control is wrestled back from the current lessors. Current lessors havent shown that capability needless to say, or we wouldn't be reading about it now.

I am sure I dont understand all the details but current lessors appear to have embellished attendance to support overbuilding and are now in a bind. Good news is that it now has a bunch of cool upgrades but isnt able to make the payments on them. So logically the lenders will take it over, write off the bad debt, reboot it and put in place a proven leadership to run it.
So to clarify, I dont claim to understand the nuances but obviously want to support the ring and successful(read profitable) leadership.

I agree that the current bad decision makers should be ousted first or this will happen over and over again until it's really ruined. I don't know how German law works, but if the German Gov. does get ownership of the property I know that they will do whatever it takes to make sure the ring is around. That track brings their government a ton of money each year.
They can make it a State Park or something (that you can drive really fast through).

As much I love that place, I cannot support something like that.
This story involves opportunists, crooks and money and politics and surely we don’t have all the angles of it.
And over facebook of all places!
People there knew what was going on for years and everybody pretended that everything was ok because money was flowing in with the tourists.
Land values went crazy hi, people made fortunes car manufacturers joined the frenzy.
Sabine is cute and a great driver but also runs her other business there.
The ring will be unaffected at the end of the day.. Places with such dynamic and aura always prevail, on the other hand Germany and Europe have a lot more important problems to solve before we all go down in flames. Now about them I am not so sure of the outcome.
