Mike, that sounds like a good idea. I can tell from the little time I spent with Chris that this is someone I'd enjoy learning from. Splitting the cost could be a way to make it happen more often.

Hi Guys,
Keep your fingers on the mouse, registration opens tonight at 10PM eastern. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again and especially like the smiling faces of those new to Sebring! Doug Weatherby is our new registrar and I will be riding shot-gun helping him out. If you need anything, just contact Doug at sebringclubrace@yahoo.com or me (Nick) at us944@yahoo.com. See you soon at Sebring, Nick

ps, bring warm clothes and sun tan lotion, you might need them both...

Hopefully Sebring will be a little less windy and a little less wet than yesterday.

It will be my first PCA race so I'm really pumped. Thanks for all your work helping put this together.

I have used N-Tech Racing in Winter Haven, just 45 miles north of Sebring on US27. I did an 'arrive and drive' at a Chin DE event at Sebring back in April, 2010. Nick Reifner, the owner, has built and maintains a fleet of 944 Cup cars that are dressed in the Porsche 917 'Pink Pig' historic livery. In addition to the immacculate cars, Nick is a great driver having won all but one of this years eleven 944 Cup (Florida Region) series races in a Pink Pig. Nick is also an accomplished instructor and I know he will be at the 48 this year in his 18 wheeler rig, aka 'the Pig Blanket', with several Pink Pigs within. Great cars, great service and great people. see: www.pinkporsches.com

maybe i missed something but is there a list of the various classes and which run "groups" (you mention 3) in which the classes will run?

i ask because im hoping to bring my 996 cup and the sbox, and sort of need them to be ,ie. groups 1 and 3, et c to make that happen reasonably well.

are the run group sortings listed anywhere?

No, they are not listed yet. I am just looking at what they did last year. You can see that on Club Reg. They will not post the run groups for this year until the week of the race. I am 95% sure SPB will not be in the CUP car group.

Anyone have a detailed schedule from last year? The schedule on the web site is just general info.

Last year they ran 2 sprint races on Saturday but I get the feeling this year they are only running 1?

That would be cruel - 2 sprint races is the way to go.

A long way to travel for only one sprint race.
Seemed to work out well last year with two.

According to research by Pete Tremper, the word is two Sprints Saturday.

I didn't see an option for two sprints on Saturday when I signed up. I thought it was Friday night sprint, Saturday sprint and Sunday enduro.

I'd be very disappointed with only 1 sprint as they do at Road America. But I also understand the reasoning behind one 45 minute sprint race at these long tracks. In a 25 minute sprint race you only get 10-12 laps in. But I still vote for 2 shorter versions.
