Ron Savenor's car has been for sale for over 3 years. Last time I saw it on Pelican he was asking under $60K. The car was freshly rebuilt by Advanced Auto, comes with the original Wagenpass, etc.

Most of the guys who have 964 Cups have had them listed for sale several times over the last few years. But except for a couple, they haven't sold. The market is soft right now. It will bounce back I'm sure, but these are the facts.

I'm not trying to knock down the importance of these cars or their value. But they are not the best option to go racing these days and the collector market isn't there yet. In a few years it will be. So from an investment standpoint I don't blame the owners for keeping them in the garage. Just wish I'd see more of them at the track that's all.

Tom McGlynn, the former owner of Jongbloed wheels, still owns his USA Carrera Cup. He just hasn't been racing the last couple of years with young kids in hockey, go carting, etc.

Mike Courtney in the Twin Cities has a Euro Cup for sale. Red car that has run the last couple of years at various PCA club races around the country. The last time we talked he was very interested in moving up to a 996 cup but didn't have any nibbles on his Euro cup. Contact me or FPena directly if you are interested.

I'm sure I have photos from the '03 Laguna race. Just have to go look........... I did find the time sheets though, if you're interested.

It was sold and is back in Europe now.

Not all cars are in the same condition and with so few trading hands or even for sale, I'd warn against trying to set the market based on one example (like Ron's).

OK, so it sold after 3 years on the market at an asking price of $59K. Who knows what the actual selling price was. And Ron's car was a solid car. He pretty much podiumed every race he finished.

And the other $59K car linked above has been for sale for a few months. I don't see any $75K cars exchanging hands, do you?

Sounds like this would be a good time for you to buy the Courtney car.

If I were to get into a race car in this part of the country to be in a competitive class, a 964/993 cup wouldn't be my first choice

Let's just say that Ron is an excellent driver.

He absolutely is. But Tommy from Advanced Auto prepped the car to perfection so that shouldn't be discounted either.

Anyway, they are great cars and I wish to see more of them at the track instead of in the garage next year!

Default 964 USA Cup

Heres my USA Cup(and STI) at the Glen...Poured both days. Good thing I had rains for the Cup. Havn't been to the Glen in 6-7 years. I thought this track was re-paved...It sucks in the rain with all the patches/cracks, etc..Still had fun.

This is a nice shot from your album

p.s. you just need to link to the album....there's no need to upload a pic.
