Racepak has been excellent with their support. Larry and I took a tour of the facillity during our technical training early this year. Product that is really built in the USA. Imagine that built here? We were so surprised we took pictures of technicians actually soldering boards together.

Can one set up ones dash (e.g. shift points etc.) on a PC then download into the car at a later date - in other words when not physically connected to the car?

Sure can. You can set up shift lights, displayed channels on each of 4 display pages, channel value warnings, etc on your laptop and download the lot to the IQ3 at the track.

Sweet. Thanks.
I've had one in my car for a while and only really used it as a glorified lap timer- I'm finally /ready to exploit it.

David, FYI: I have the software on my laptop computer, so anytime you want me to look at your data...as we discussed....

Well I plugged the card in the laptop but apparently there was nothing on it. Nada.
That surprised me. I've done hundreds of laps after setting up the timer but should I have initialized the memory card first to hold there data or something?
That and/or reading the instructions surely would have helped.

David, do you have a G2X or an IQ3? Neither requires card initialization, and both units can record data with no other setup. The biggest problem with the G2X is people putting the data card in upside down in the holder, which then will go in 7/8s of the way, but not enough for the card to work.

Larry- its IQ3 and the card appeared to be in the correct side down and in all the way such that it fit flush in the holder and the spring eject mechanism fully compressed.

Yet when we put in the PC we saw nothing whatsoever.

I would first try copying a file to the card while it is in your computer. That way you will know if the card works. We have seen a small number of card failures. Next step would be to call Racepak.
