Yes, the G2X displays the lap time for about 10 seconds after you pass S/F, and the ones with the newer version software will do predictive timing.

Yes.
There are two led displays, and they can be set up to display a range of stuff. Each has a default display, then button-push selection of up tp three other parameters.
Its a similar display config choice to the one for the IQ3 but for just those two led displays.
All G2X models can do this, including the oldest Black models. Load the current firmware and its done.

Larry, I like how the G2X still gives "Visual" access to the OEM dash. Nice job.

Race Car
Folks,
I am about to order a Racepak IQ3 (Haltech version) dash/datalogger for my race car.
What I wanted to know is how those that have the dash like it now that have had it for a while? Are you happy with the hardware and its reliability? Has the dash proven easy to see in your cars? Any issues with sensors? Any failures?
I know the software is a bit more complicated that the Traqmate software. Have you found it buggy or lacking in any way?
Any feedback from folks with the IQ3 dash is welcome!
Thanks,
Scott

Scott, you could also check this thread as some of the people on it did buy the IQ3 unit.

Scott, comatb has one. For a dash solution, I'd recommend looking at the AiM MXL Pista.

My dash had an issue that presented as missing digits on the display. Repair and round trip was free and fast. 0 problems otherwise.
My understanding is this issue has been dealt with in newer units.

same here... dropped a few pixels over previous winter... fixed quickly without issue... unfortunately, happened again this winter (only a very small spot and not worth sending back yet). I wonder if it would be better to remove the unit from the car for winter storage????

Mark, I have not tried that one, but I was thinking that Glen would try it and let me know. Anywhere we think you don't have to lift we just tell him "it's no problem" and wait to see if he makes it first.

There were a few display related issues here and there with the IQ3. Dropped pixels, missing areas, and even systems that shipped with the display backwards(!). WIth that said, in every case Racepak repairs quickly and at no charge.
Any issues we've ever seen were strictly related to the display and not the core components (accelerometers, etc..).
