From the SCCA Spec Miata race at Infineon last weekend. The car I was battling for the lead is a respected competitor that I'm virtually tied with for our regional points lead.
If you like in car race footage, you might find this video pretty entertaining.

Very entertaining! What did he say to you after the race about the point by?
I do note you were driving much more economical lines in a few places, which allowed you to catch back up relatively easily after your early mis-shift. Kudos.

Not that I am a racer, but I would not have given the position back, it looked like he closed the door on you, you already were on the inside. Just an outsiders opinion.

YES! its not like its a million dollars for the win. -that's sportsmanship!
and you'd get a payback sooner or later.
its like calling YOUR fault in tennis or golf. Be Honorable, even when no one's watching!

WOW...that was an awesome video.
I like your attitude and you did the correct thing and then went back and passed him like you should. Although you see a lot of what happened when you punted the leader and most say that's just racing but you guys are just out there for fun with no one to answer too other than yourself and competitors.
I am not racing a car but this is just my opinion on this.

Good racing. Good sportsmanship, and the faster driver won!
That said, it's not like you kicked him in the rear quarter panel. You were outbraking him and he pulled in front before you could get slowed down. A racing incident IMHO.

Damned backmarkers, right? I had to jump around to find the incident, but once I saw where you were catching him, and further saw the soon-to-be-lapped traffic coming off of 10..........it was pretty clear you'd get a run going into 11. Can't say I would have given the position back, but there are just a few of you running at the pointy end this season, and I'd imagine you're all pretty friendly. At least in context of about 5 years ago, and who ran up front?? In the interest of full disclosure, Brian running #12 (my car's old number, and also Brian's v. 1.0 SM number as we both bought cars from Justin Hall) is a friend and the creator/owner of Motorsportsreg.com which many of you might have used to register for events.

Great video.
My hats off to you on the turn 7 pass on the #10., (also the one around turn 3 pass on the second lap)
I like and use that same line into 11. seems to mop up folks there.
I want to race one of those one day! Looks like fun
edit: I just watched the hit on the leader. I have mixed feelings about what you did later. hey, you owned him, you had a run and he went narrow at the worse point in braking. He kind of deserved it and it was a love tap. So, great sportsmanship, but you probably knew you might be able to do it clean , so why not. heck, whats the prize money anyway??? Now, the pass on him for real , at turn 7 was nice too. I like that sizzor move. nothing he really could have done, in fact, he tried to fight and ended up jumping the curb behind you in the rear view mirror, did you see that. that was nice too.
cool video. usually, the spec miata videos are boring to watch, unless there is contact, this was very watchable. good stuff!
