Default My Garage Project

So, earlier this year, we started building a detached 2 car "barn" style garage. There's still plenty of things left to do, but the progress has been good. Here's some of the pictures of the process.

Footprint is 24' wide x 26' deep.

As its a pole barn, the beams are placed on large concrete pillars. You can't tell front the picture, but these go about 5' deeper than what you see.

Inside is all clear span, so a large engineered beam supports the roof. The posts are true 10"x10" and 8"x8"...they are freaking stout!

It took a coat of primer and 2 coats of stain to get to this stage. Will probably do another coat of stain next summer.

The floor is VCT. It took a lot longer than I anticipated because of all the cuts, but the result is nice.

The finished floor pre-polish.

Today was a big day, as the Mohawk A7 lift was installed

You can see 2 dull floor tiles...that's what it looks like without polish. I had 2 tiles that failed when I aligned the race car. Was easily enough to pop down a new one.

Testing the lift with the wife's car...better to drop this than the race car .

Still need to spray insulate the entire interior, put up drywall and paint

I have some Rousseau cabinets on order, as I need storage desperately.

That's it for now. Will update after the next upgrade!

The metal roof is cool, as are the doors. Nice choice on the stain color too.

Sensational! Mucho jealousy. When you were referring to lifting your wife's, I wasn't sure if you were talking about the car or your avatar.

When you put the drywall up, is there enough room to walk by the lift on the wall side? It looks really closel Is it closer than mine??

It is a bit closer than yours, but the lift controls are on the other side (passenger). I decided to do it that way to keep the passenger side life column from encroaching into the other bay.
