Rousseau cabinets arrived. I got them thru www.rousseausavers.com which has great pricing IMO. I am really impressed with the quality of Rousseau...every bit as good as Lista IMO.

That is the old engine, with a nice sized hole in the top. I started a new thread on that: https://rennlist.com/forums/racing-a...ml#post7925195

Colin looks good. I am going to start construction on my detached garage Wednesday this week. 24 x32. I will post some pics when I get in progress. I like that Mohawk lift. I think you posted on the thread where I was asking about lifts. they are stout but maybe a bit overkill for a hobbyist. What was your motivation on going that route?

I really didn't want to skimp on the tool that puts a 2500lb car over my head. If there is one place to over engineer, that's it IMO.

I really like the whole garage, looks great!
After seeing all those toolboxes etc., I don't think you'll never finish those walls...
But if you do, since you went with the whole barn thing, I'd finish them with wood instead of drywall. It would look better, more authentic and everything will be easier to mount on it.

Because overall automotive lifts don't break like most other things do? It is not the lift that sets the safety it is the lift user. Granted this opinion is only based on the sample of automotive lift injury data of all the US over 60+ years. Fact is there are very few injuries reported from lift failures. You are more likely to be killed by a pig or a shark than a lift. There is plenty of hurt and death from dumb *** lift users, pro and DIY. I have to know this stuff for work and it is by far the use, not the tool, that sets the safety in this area.
Get and use what you like but looking down your nose at all non Mohawk lifts as somehow unsafe is not based on real world fact. Being able to place the lifting pads in the correct positions is most important. Some lifts have lifting arms that are large in girth or have higher min pad heights and harder to position under the car correctly. This leads to cheating or a compromise in positioning. Having safety locks that are easy to use and less likely to be bypassed by the user is important as well. Funny thing, ease of use is a big factor in overall lift safety and brand is not.
