The cars are impounded after qualifying, they're not supposed to do anything. Which, I agree, is pretty stupid in itself. Half the broadcast was spent trying to explain intricacies and idiosyncracies of F1 to a North American audience that was probably giving the whole thing a huge "what for".

Hearing "I was looking after the tires" in every interview is getting more and more annoying every minute.
Exactly right! Who likes 7/10ths racing except for Max, and he likes getting whipped on his bare *** by women in **** uniforms.

Suffice to say, this is a perversion of the racing of old, i.e. ***** to the wall racing all the way to the checkered flag. Barely gasping across the finish line sucks big time.

And how about the McLaren development pace? Good gravy, those cars got quick.

David Coultard recently commented that the current F1 climate is entirely the result of Mosley's policies. It will take a few years for Todt to reshape it.....

Hmm, and this is different from his normal MO in what way?

It's not, and I never liked him for it.

Exactly. It's not like they're putting in a 'special engine' or a hidden turbo, they're changing a gearbox which can't be any better than the one they always use. In other words there's no advantage.
Seems to be a rule that's origins might go back some time. Why punish a driver, team, sponsors, fans with a stupid rule? As ever, the people that administer the rules in many cases can't see the
most obvious holes in their processes.

I hope everyone had fun. I'd really like to have gone. Does anyone have any pictures they'd like to share?

Great race in Canada!!! That's the F1 I like!!!

Michael Schumacher...BIG disappointment...what is the man thinking. As the season continues, his return seems more and more like a HUGE Flop!

I'll see if I can post some tonight. I'm not much of a photographer but did get a few of the cars on their warm up laps.

Actually there are some good shots here.

jeebus...Montreal has the hottest lady cops (real cops, not rent-a-cops) on the planet...did they hand-select the ladies working the subways and the track for the weekend ? Yikes...hot wimmen w/ gunz.

Der Professor seemed to always find hissef w/Ferrari Club folks...the Sat. pm festival in "little Italy" ("petite something or other") way up on Ave. St. Laurent was a nice party...especially since they set up a kart track (mit rental karts !) in the street at one end. No end of bad behaviour.

That bad smell wasn't cheese past its "sell-by date"...it was a certain Mercedes drover. Michael needs to re-retire.

Was that at the top of Avenue de Parc?

Close...about 5 blocks NE...at Bou. St. Laurent and Rue Jean Talon...+/- a block.

I was doing critical exams of the bottom of wine glasses, so I didn't go to play with karts. The "men in red" were appropriately dispatched. Waiting for the "after-" story.

You're not a real racer if you've never been thrown out of a kart track.

What can I say? When my oldest was 12 he got kicked out for spinning people as they lifted going into the turns. And to the cat calls of "just like his Dad"! I was so proud.
