When I did this 2 years ago we could go as long as we wanted. I think out team is aiming for an hour max or as much as someone can handle.

Same team did the Chump Car event at VIR in April.

IMHO Chump Car was a vastly better experience since there were no BS penalties, no judges, no curse, etc. I would say Lemons is fun if you're out of the car and Chump Car is fun if you're in the car. Good luck and have fun!

You guys did get hosed. Big time. But, because of how bad you got hosed, and the general feeling from all of the other people who drove there, they changed to rules for destroying a car now. Now you have to get at least 50% of the vote, and a vote that is not turned in is counted a vote that "no one" deserved the curse. If "no one" gets more than 50 %, "no one" get's destroyed. I don't know when the last time someone got enough votes. You really have to drive like a complete asshat to get it anymore. Change in the right direction, imho. Hopefully we will see you guys at the Putnam Park chump event in sept.

Ok gonna bring this thread back from a month-long hiatus and see how progress is going?!

We're just about there on the MR2 -- got number of small things to take care of, but shouldn't take much longer.

Hey Jay -- there's an SCCA autox this Sunday, you planning on going? A few of our team will be there (hopefully all the drivers, at least!).

Oops, spoke too soon...we think we blew the ECU last night. Got another one on order, but not sure if it'll come in in time for sunday's Autox. We'll see!

...figures, this always happens...

Actually, I am sorry to say that we are OUT! The car was messed up to badly by the roll cage people. We need to cut the cage out and start over. We will be there next year to race, but this year we will just be supporting. Not happy to say the least!

Nooooo!

You should come down to Stafford to heckle anyway. I've got free beer and brats if you want it, and you're more than welcome to drive the MR2 round the block or three if you'd like.

What happened with the cage?

I heard they changed the rules d/t what happened. We all knew it was a possibility going in, but it was still pretty crappy. We are signed up for Putnam, are you entering a car?

Yep, will be there with the #0 Celica. Ugly as hell, but pretty entertaining on track. What are you bringing?

Well, on our end (E=MR2 Racing), we're still GO for the race!

Turns out yes, we did blow an ECU somehow, but we bought a used one from a junker and she fired right up! We've got another coming in that we bought off Ebay.

We took the car to the local SCCA autox and, after pissing nearly everyone off with our less-than-pleasing-to-look-at MR2, we got a number of runs in and found a couple more things out about our car!

Overall, she's solid, so that's good. We need to replace the alternator, clutch master cyl, and battery.

Oh and she still doesn't have a paint/decorating job, but here's what she looks like, for those who are interested....oh and don't worry, we're adding more door bracing this week.

Oh and question, for those of you who have done the race -- will we get penalized for our numbers? I know that in SCCA, the "4" cannot be connected, and typically serif font is not permitted.

However, nowhere in the Lemons rules does it say that the way we currently have the number is not acceptable.

Thoughts?

Where you at Nelsons? If so, I am terrible at names, but good at faces. See you then.

Question, to those who have attended the 24 at Stafford in CT: is there a limit on the length of each driver stint? Doesn't say anywhere in the rules, but I know that some tracks impose a max duration.

Thx.
