Which F1 pit commentator do you like better?
I'm just curious, which F1 pit lane commentator do you like better, Windsor or Buxton?

Windsor, despite the potential for his involvement in USF1 relegating him to the "useless fluff" category, he was always wedging his way into the pre grid mele to get some good insights...don't think Buxton quite has the grey hairs to compare, but he has been getting better in the last few races...

This Will Buxton guy is a complete joke.
Direct quote, "Driving at Monaco is like playing tennis in a toilet".
How many of you guys have played tennis in a toilet or anything quite so similar?
Direct quote, "I met my wife over there in a bar at Rascasse corner 3 years ago".
Who gives a ****?
I love the way Mick Jagar blew him off.
Peter Windsor had a certain credibility within the paddock and was able to get those interviews a complete unknown with a microphone is not able to get. I miss that.

Buxton is a lightweight. A lot of bubble gum not enough meat. Although I enjoy Machett and Hobbs, if Varsha says, "But, this is Monaco, and ....." one more time, I'm going to throw the TV out the window.

BBC coverage puts Speed to shame! I still watch Speed for quali/race but download the BBC stuff for their pre and post race interviews and grid walk. I'll reserve my opinion on the new Speed guy for a few more races.

I like this kid, I think he's funny, and he is definitely passionate about racing. Of course, Windsor did have more street cred.
Haven't seen the race yet, meeting the guys this evening....

Since I discovered them I haven't tuned in Speed/Nascar at all...

You would have thought with 30+ years in the sport and jobs at Ferrari and Williams, Windsor would have been able to snag better interviews and command a little more respect.
And when he DID get an interview he seemed focused on petty rumors and wasn't taken seriously.
Maybe I'm just bitter about the whole USF1 thing...but I'll give this Buxton guy a chance. So far he's OK.

I miss Peter but I like the new guy. Young. Fresh face and a hip attitude. He will probably get along well with the young drivers since they can relate to eachother.
I thought the comment about meeting his wife at the track was pretty cool. I hope she was there to watch race.

While Buxton is not terrible, how many times have you heard Machett or even Varsha having to correct him when he's been flat wrong about something? Windor knew F1 inside and out, and while not quite as colorful, always added inside information that brought value to the broadcast, Buxton... so far, not so much.
