Kurt,

With the demise of mininova I am having a hard time finding a good and timely source of torrents with BBC F1 coverage.

Any suggestions?

I think the new kid is getting better race by race. He seems to be able to get interviews easier than Windsor did.
Now that Windsor had a shot getting into F1 do you think anyone of them would talk to him again?

I think Buxton will turn out OK

BBC coverage rocks! Been watching it since they took over ITV (theirs wasn't bad either).

You don't even need to download the torrents, I watch it in iPlayer directly on BBC's web site (you need Firefox, FoxyProxy and a correct server if you're in the US).

He sounds like he's drunk half the time as it is!!
I also like the new guy, I say we give him some time.

Windsor shot himself in the foot bigtime with the whole USF1 situation.
I liked him a lot, but he's lost all "street cred" with the F1 crowd.
I mean, how could he look some of these guys in the eye and ask a tough question after that? The reply would have been something like:
"WTF are you talking about? How about your USF1 fiasco???"

Buxton sure seems to be biased against Schumacher.

Back in the mid ninetys when F1 was on ESPN Derek Daly was commenting on Monaco and the camera panned to a yacht with a topless women. I believe he was talking about the rivalry between Schumacher and Hill. When he saw the topless sunbathing woman, he said, "There are a set of rivals".

Every time I watch the Monaco GP I giggle.

Really that is my beef with him.. He really seems to like to take shots at MS and Ferrari. You need to be more objective as a pit reporter.

I didn't want to say it because I'm already known as being a MS and Ferrari homer, but I'm glad others picked up on it as well.

To give a few examples, Buxton has stated on broadcasts that everyone has an engine freeze in place except Ferrari. He's mentioned Schumacher's Monaco qualifying in '06 several times with caveats of direct opinion rather than just stating the facts, and ironically enough, before the Monaco GP, he was interviewing Demon Hill and said something to the effect of being race director and penalties with a certain someone that will go unnamed, but it on the grid with multiple world championships and a pushing incident.... etc

I know Buxton is cut from the same cloth as A. Wayne (except now A Whine doesn't Whine about the Ferrari International Assistance now that Ms. ALonso is on the Scuderia), but as a sideline reporter, you're supposed to present an unbiased piece. He's not a color commentator, he's a reporter. Not supposed to interject opinion.

These responses really surprise me. Buxton doesn't impress me at all. Seems like half his statements are typical British sensational exaggeration. Things like: "Mercedes abandon Nico by caving in to Schumacher's demand for a shortened wheelbase." Sometimes he says something interesting, but on the whole I really don't much care for him.
