I think it is beneficial to the Rennlist community to have these kinds of threads available. Both sides present their stories and the readers can make up their own minds.
I am glad that Dale found the thread and took the time to defend himself.

+1.

There are 2 sides to the story. I am very glad we got both. Certainly some communication issues between the 2 parties. It is always beneficial when vendors/suppliers come to the forums and have a fair chance to explain their perspectives.

Other threads deserved to be deleted because they were redundant with this one and little additional content...

The Eric Fletcher legend actually has more detailed own-age, but the underlying behavior (exaggeration) was not as epic as this thread.

Absolutely, I'd prefer to offer my 2-pence than have it deleted and leave everybody guessing!

I haven't been on Rennlist for a while, but this one caught my eye as I'll be in London quite a bit longer and good car rentals for the 'ring are not that easy to find.

RSR Nürburg is my first choice, and I consider Ron, Dale and the others to be first rate in every respect.

So what happened to the OP? He must be enjoying his free lapping day.

I'm going over to Europe next month and if I get time to go to the 'ring, I'll call RSR first.

one point in the trackday rental table where shahin points out that it's for the nordschleiffe it repeatedly states for the nordschleiffe OR trackdays. for anyone who speaks a modicum of english is plainly clear that km limits apply for the trackday rental packages.

honestly it sounds like they went out of their way to help you out. you went out of your way to mistreat the car they rented you, tried to bag yourself a free rental on the promise of 'great reviews' and then got the ****s when you got charged for what you got. 1400 euro seems to me to be exactly what you got. I mean, you got 2 days of use of the clio, trackday entry to Spa, tickets for nordschleiffe, hotel reservations etc. Pretty bloody good package if you ask me.

I'm about to head to the nurburgring and have spoken to both ron and dale. both have been very helpful. I can't see how on earth they could spell things out any clearer?

like dale said, you just got 2 days of driving a great little car and Spa and the nordschleiffe for 1400euro... try and see the plus side of that.....

I'm attending the BMW school at the Nordschleife next week, 2-4 August. The North American BMW clubs group together in one or two sections of what is principally a German club event. The first 12-hour day consists of driving segments of the track repeatedly with instructors demonstrating the line and stopping at points to discuss the track. The second day the final segments are explored, and then whole laps are driven, first lead/follow and then on one's own. The third day culminates with a graded lap, awards at a dinner and the like. It's not that much high-speed driving, but it is some of the best training one can get at the 'ring. Info here: http://www.fahrerlehrgang.info/englisch_version.html

I'm doing the school this year in a Megane rented from Ron. Competitive pricing and top quality service.

Zing!

I've really enjoyed this thread, and I'm greatly encouraged by what is (on average) a very positive take on corporate communication.

Good job, Dale. I'll look you up next year when I plan a similar trip!
