Yes, it was of the singularly most humbling & educational experiences of my driving career. Plus, he is simply a wonderful & humble man. I almost bought his company (Intercontinental Events) in 2004, but was outbid (and then two years later the buyer reneged on paying him...horrible story) and we & our families remain friends to this day.
I hadn't heard about that book, thanks for the recommendation!

a small dose of tire barrier or cement wall is a known cure, in most cases, but it might have some known side effects, not limited to death, emptied wallet, hurt ego damaged car, etc.

although, as was said to no end here, there is a time and a place for all sorts of driving techniques.
I even do it, to save a step out on the slippery carocel exit birms at sears point.

Or, here is a better example during the same spot, but this slide due to a bad rear tire: 2:55

Get your car back together for NASA Nationals at Miller this year. My goal is to be there running GTS4, ST2 and TTS. You should be able to qualify your car for those classes as well with the appropriate power/weight.

I would love to do it. Finances will probably not allow much racing this year. as you might know, ive built the exact replica of the car that was lost and it is finished. (just needs paint and some minor bits) It might take a little weight to do it in GTS4 now, because of the the stronger motor, Im kind of in GTS5 now, but at the bottom of the scale. ( the original Holbert set up was a clear GST4 runner) I like your sporting attitude. I still think we all you and VR, need to go at it with some rx7s or miatas at the High plains Raceway.

Knocking your car down to GTS4 is easy. Multiple options...use some or all: 1) add weight 2) intake restrictor (caps your max hp without a retune) 3) retune to limit power. We adjust weight and our tune to fit into GTS4 because we're at the bottom-middle of GTS5.
See ya at Miller?
