Has anyone here been stopped and fined for hauling fuel in a non DOT approved jug?

I have been hauling gas for my track cars for 10 years. Never once even questioned about it.
Of course I have always used red fuel jugs intended for fuel too. I have 5 cans of 3 styles. I know 3 of them are DOT approved and the other two could be, but I have never cared.

I never have either, but imagine it is one one of those items you would not be stopped for, but if stopped for something else and pissed off the cop, would be "another" charge to add.

When I was stopped in VT for my company owned truck/personally owned trailer with sponsorship signage/no trucker ID transgression, they checked EVERYTHING.
The fuel jugs I use are standard issue Home Depot red jugs and they were not flagged.
Not sure if those are DOT approved.
