97's front and rear - tried most everything else. Hate Pagids.

97's front and rear on a '93 964 C2 with stock calipers.
I really like them but would like to try 01's if they were available.

Was a pagid fan til some almost disintegrated on me at the Glen. The pics are scary.

Then Gary and Sean recommended 97's. Put on pads, race car. I like them very much. I do everything Sean or Gary tell me to do. Everything.

Got some HT10's on sale once bout could not get the shimmy out of the front rotors. Took off. Put on 97's, raced car.

May try the 01's. I think they will be available for us this season?

I've used both 97's and 01's on my 944s2. Love them!

Not a Porsche, but I use PFC 06's in my M3 track car. They have the bite, modulation, and release characteristics of the PFC 01's that I used to use, with approximately twice the usable life.

I used PFC 97's both front and rear when my 911 had 930 brakes. The RSA was also shod with PFC 97's for the track.

Can anyone answer me this. When I first tried PFCs 01/97 f/r they were awesome. Just fantastic bite and modulation.
I then tried Pagid Blues which were pretty good, and then tried their Blacks which are better, but my recollection of the PFCs were that they are the best I've tried. However, the 2nd time I tried the same combo 01/97 I suffered from lack of overall bite and retardation. The brakes weren't soft, the pedal was firm but it just didn't have nearly as much bite. The X-drilled rotors were cracking up a bit but I wouldn't have thought this would have effected the retardation like this?

Not really an answer to your question Patrick but I know when I used Pagids they eat the rotors in a grooved pattern and the PF's wear them down perfectly flat. I wonder if you weren't getting full/flat pad contact? We also (in our 2500Lb cars) have come to the conclusion that Porsche stock rotors work best and last the longest. Sean and I have tried (between us) drilled, slotted. frozen, frozen slotted and drilled, and everything else out there. Always back to flat rotors.. (except for the spare drilled ones he pawned off on me when I was down.. ..)

Get all that Strrreeeeeeeeaaaaakkkkk????

Hmm, you could have something. I did use the Pagids on the same X Drilled rotors before switching to new PFCs so maybe it was somewhat uneven, although the rotors weren't on the car for a long time before. 1 day at the track and just running around.

Interesting about the flat rotors working best? I definitely felt an improvement when going to the X-Ds but they cracked beyond use after 2 meets and some street driving. I'm going to try some floating slotteds next. Hope they provide the best of all worlds.

97s front and rear on my stock 951S. Will consider using the '01s when I deplete my inventory of 97s.

Racing a 2,702# (with driver) 911SC in PCA club racing - stock rotors and calipers:
#1 choice rs14s front, 97s rear. Imho Rs14s have more on-off bite, 97s are more progressive.
#2 choice whatever pads (new or used) Dan J brings on the transporter...
