OT: Friend in need of help -- Update -- She's out of the Hospital!
I have a friend in need.
Just days after giving birth, Katy Hayes, wife of my guitar teacher and friend Al Hayes, fell critically ill from a Strep A infection, and is on a ventilator fighting for her life. Al and Katy are both contract workers. Al can't work right now, and the medical bills are building at an alarming rate while they literally go through the fight of their lives. They have three kids, one a newborn.
I know that none of you know them, but if you can, please dig down and send in a little to help them out. These are good, hard working people who need help badly.

done...sorry we don't have universal health care. At a most painful and vulnerable time in a person's life, it sucks to have to worry about bills...I wish them the best

I'm in. This is a national disgrace. I have lived and spent time in different countries, 2nd and 3rd world, and none are as amoral as the US regarding the wellbeing of their citizens.
There is a good business case for Medicare Part E.
