Default Bike Rack on Trailex?

Does anyone have photo's of a bike rack being installed on a Trailex 7541 or similar trailer? I'm thinking of adding a bike rack to the tire rack or other area and trying to figure out the best mounting options.

Thanks!

If you have the room, put a fork mount across the front of the trailer. Mine is in storage right now so I cant get a pic for you but it works great. The bike fits just in front of the car, above the straps. Very secure and easy to lock.

I believe that DanR has a rack on his tire rack.

If Trailex can mount a standard receiver on their trailer (should be fairly straightforward given the design and construction), you could always purchase one of these:

Arkadi,

Does your Trailex have the winch and windscreen?

No, but I do have 2 large gang boxes on it. I did find an old pic. It is hard to see, but the fork mount is right by the "d" ring on the left. The bike fits right behind the boxes and the rear wheels fits perfectly between the center support on the trailer and the right ramp. Not all trailex's that I have seen have enough room up front to do it. Good luck

that is where mine is mounted. I bought some 2" pipe clamps from home depot, then welded them to a base plate and bolted to the side of the tire rack. Works a treat but does make the trailer an extra 6" wider which you need to remember when going through tolls

Thanks guys for the feedback. Looks like Dan's setup is the most logical for my trailer since I have a wind screen. I'm going to research the viability of mounting against the wind screen as well w/o compromising the turning radius.

Where did you source these boxes?

Sean,
The PO had them made: Alum-Line, Inc P.O. Box 59 Hwy 9 West Cresco, IA 52136, 319 547-3247. They might be on the web, not sure. They are 30x25x16 UB boxes about $245 each. I keep 3 fuel jugs in the left box and misc junk in the right. I think I have the schematics for them somewhere if you are interested.

Might be interested in a set as well for my trailex. It'd be nice to haul fuel jugs securely outside the tow vehicle.

Sean, J, pm me your email address and I can send you a pdf. The drawing is not great but I think it will give you the idea. I can also take some more pics for you if you need them.
