Default Aiptek camera deals

$69 for the A-HD at Amazon. Best price I've seen.

http://www.amazon.com/Aiptek-720p-Hi...9235853&sr=8-7

You always need an extra.

Anyone else see any deals?

Well, that looks like as good a reason to give the camera a try! I was looking at the Hero wide angle in std and hi def, but at half the price and has a handy monitor screen (what I didn't like about the Hero) I think I'll give it a try.

The spec sheet doesn't show a tripod mount on the camera, but they offer a small tripod, so must assume the 1/4 X 20 female is in the body.

Thanks for the heads up and btw, I did not see any pricing cheaper while looking for specs.

How long of a video can you take with that? The Amazon site isn't very specific or I'm missing it.

Lots of info in the Aiptek thread. With a 16gbyte SD card, you can record an entire DE weekend worth of sessions.

The Ativa is a rebranded Toshiba Camileo S10.
The specs look good, but we've found that the Aiptek produces its best results at 720P/60fps, and its the 60fps bit that makes the difference. The Ativa does not appear to have a 60fps mode in any resolution.

Still, for $90 I say buy one, try it, and post the video results. That way we'll all know for sure!

I have the 720p also and have had great success. I just picked up the Ativa for since it had a good price.

Kurt,
Yep. Turns out that the 60fps together with a good solid mount solves the problem.
Which one did you get - Aiptek or Ativa??

Standard 1/4 20 tripod mount. Guaranteed to break at some point but a couple of folks have posted cheap preventative fixes. And at $69 who cares anyway?

Aiptek, now onto a cheap PC laptop.
What would be the minimums needed for a laptop used only for car data and basic video work? No internet, gaming or business work, car stuff only.

It appears that the specific camera listed for $69 in this thread only records at 30fps. You have to move up to the A-HD+ to get 60fps. Not sure how big of a deal that really is.

Does the A-HD have an external mic?
