Just started the research on this. 1/4" windshield for a 993 is about $450 (shields and fivestarbodies seam to be the most frequently mentioned sources). My shop recommended several external mounting tabs to prevent blow-out and a support bar down the center of the inside glass to prevent vibration at speed. Thoughts?

Me - drop the 40 pounds I gained when I quit the smokes 3 years ago.
The Boxster is going in for some surgery this winter. Mainly cage, weight reduction, and some cooling and suspension work to complete its transition to the dark side (a BSR Boxster). Personally I'll only do things like the brakes, painting the calipers, and making the car look cool!

Given that I already have to add over 150 lbs in ballast to make weight, any weight savings with the lexan (approx 17 lbs) will have to be added right back to my ballast box. For me it is really a decision based on safety (and the fact that my stock OEM glass windshield is severely cracked, and the lexan is actually cheaper than replacement oem glass). Only downside is no longer being able to pass PA inspection.

1. Finish building my 1973 911S 2.4L MFI motor for my race car Tweety Bird. That should be done before Christmas so I can do break-ins and get some dyno runs in.
2. Then I need to install the electronic battery cutoff.
3. Install the iShift sequential shift lights.
4. Send my gagues off to North Hollywood Speedo be rebuilt and am adding a Hobbs meter to the tach (driven by oil pressure) so I know how much time the engine ACTUALLY runs.
5. Rebuild 1st/2nd gear clusters on my 1979 930.
6. Fix my Stand21 F21 Airforce helmet (air inlet tube)
7. Add CoolShirt access ports in my Stand21 ST021 suit
8. Reposition my ChaseCam camera mount point
9. Get ready for February LSR DE and March Club Race
10. Beg wife for a Carefree of Colorado awning for my trailer
11. Replace front rotors (Rennsport Systems rotors - YES!) and pads, replace rear pads.
Jeez!!! That's one helluva list!
