Depending on a Sprint vs Enduro, I have between 75 and 100 pounds of lead bolted to the floor of my car. It isn't that big of a deal.

The 100 pound prepared weight loss is NOT gonna pass so I wouldn't be too anxious.

I beg to differ.......

The committee is all about having fair competition in every class, whether stock or prepared......

The 100 lbs. prepared weight loss will promote competition and more racers will be attracted to PCA races.....

I beg to differ. I think the current rules already ensure that stock cars and prepared cars are competitive. Changing that balance should not be done lightly and should have empirical proof that it is required.

Losing 100 pounds is not going to put someone on the podium. It will, however, affect those who are already on the podium.

Astroman is correct, the 100 lbs prepared proposal did not pass, mainly because different cars were affected differently by 100 lbs of loss plus, as Brian P, correctly points out, the current rules try to have stock and prepared cars compete on an even playing field and at least for some cars, 100 lbs and you are in prepared meant the car was a class dominator.

Thanks for the update and all of the hard work. I am keenly interested in whether these proposals/concepts were accepted:

"2. Move GTA cars into GT by assigning a theoretical HP/L value to the 996 and 997 normally aspirated race motors.

3. Move normally aspirated water-cooled 911 motors in earlier chassis into GT using the theoretical HP/L values established for the current GTA cars."

Those changes would potentially upset a few apple carts.

Yep, it is what it is.... more ballast on the way....

On the task list for today 11/7:
removal of black tar on the floor boards
removal of all glue inside the car

Took out 160 pounds out of the car so far... Ballast ballast more ballast needed...

Hey Astroman, you have been very confident all along that the rule was not going to pass, and it didn't. Seems like you were in "the know" all along... What's up with that? Can you tell me if the rolling diameter restriction rule will pass?

Kidding aside, i am dissappointed that the 100 # relief rule didn't pass, but the rules are the rules and that's just fine. Now i know what i have to work with over the dead months to prepare the car for what hopefully be a busy 2010 season... car will be entered and raced in D afterall!

Not that im in stock class anymore so its moot for me but I never understood the 100 pound thing anyway. Its an absolute number so it helps the lighter cars on a % basis and it encourages everybody to go prepared so in a couple of years everybody is right back where you started except now everybody has spent tons of money for the rest of the prepared mods to be competitive at the next class up. Nobody would have stayed in the stock class as they would be competing against lighter cars with built motors and big brakes etc... I know this has all be hashed to death so Ill move on...
