Default 2010 PCA club racing rules changes

The rules committee held its meeting last night and decided what rules change proposals made the cut for 2010. And the answers are......

.....You'll have to wait a few more days as the results and reasoning for some of the changes/non changes are a bit complicated. Donna promised to work on her annual recap as soon as possible. I'll post a notice when they are up on PCA's web site.

However, a couple of quick updates for those waiting with baited breath (Yes, JR., I do feel a bit like the best looking girl at the high school dance with all those waiting in line to dance with me.......and now that I've written it, I realize that doesn't describe a very pretty picture)

Selected Rules changes approved:

1) Carpet AND headliners can be removed. Note that we've clarified that indeed headliners can be removed. However, any removal must "be presented in an attractive and eye pleasing manner" See General Rule No. 9. In other words, clean up the carpet glue. Note also this isn't carte blanche to remove side panels, door panels, dashboards, etc.

2) Camber plates are allowed in stock classes but Donna is working on the definition of "camber plate"

3) The combination of the S and R classes in GT needs more discussion and consideration but will be back on the rules proposals for 2011.

and for Pat Kelly......2010 Cup cars are now in the new GTC5 class.

Please don't ask me for further comments or other specific rules as I'm leaving the majority of the reporting up to Donna.

All of us in PCA club racing owe a debt of gratitude to the members of the rules committtee, Bryan Henderson, Dick Dobson, some guy in Minnesota, and Donna Amico, with Donna once again this year taking the laboring oar to get the job done and makes a surprisingly difficult job look easy. If Donna ever wanted to quit as rules chair, I think I'd quit with her.

Have fun with your winter projects,
Bruce Boeder

Gary's correct in that some passed and some didn't and the couple I've announced are the start of the explanation.

As to carpet being glued to the passenger seat in a stock class car, thus meriting removal, let me tell you about the cup car owner at Sebring who was informed that his car "wasn't as delivered from the factory" to which his retort was "your rules don't specify what factory"

the good news about this program is that we don't run for points or money and silly *** arguments like that don't fly with us.

More to follow shortly when Donna has done her work.

Bruce
