Let's see...."Get gnawed at by a succession of middle-men who each take a cut of the revenue, and offer wisdom to the whole fetid pool of weasels who are likely trying to grab the same brass ring that I am" ? Umm....no.

This is a competitive sport. If you want big help, prepare to ante up for it. The good stuff is worth more than a beer, or $1.99 in a used book at Amazon.com.

Skip Barber's book (Going Faster) was OK, but primarily helped me by giving me the vocabulary to discuss car dynamics, and to help me understand the science behind what my butt was already telling me in the car. It's a book that is due for an update.

You would think with all the wisdom here on RL someone would come up with a guide for a rookie to become somewhat competitive......

afterall, no one here is making a living out of it (racing professionally, I mean)...........
